Occupational Nursing

Promoting and protecting workers’ health

Occupational Nursing plays a key role in promoting and protecting workers’ health, helping to prevent occupational diseases, workplace accidents and other risks associated with the working environment.

The occupational nurse supports workers throughout their working life, taking part in health surveillance and in identifying risk factors that may affect their well-being and fitness for work.

Main responsibilities

Supporting workers’ occupational health, taking part in health examinations, identifying health needs and implementing preventive measures.

The nurse also runs health education initiatives, promoting healthy behaviours and lifestyles.

Fast response

When accidents or sudden illness occur in the workplace, providing first aid and acting quickly and appropriately can be decisive until medical assistance arrives.

The occupational nurse also helps prevent accidents by analysing their causes and defining measures to reduce or eliminate new risks.

Occupational Nursing helps create safer, healthier and more humane working environments.
